Ukraine’s Security Service, SBU, has said that it foiled another assassination attempt against President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and detained a Russian informant linked to the case.

In a statement published in Telegram, the SBU said that a female informant, a resident of Ukraine’s southern Ochakov city, had gathered intelligence about Zelenskiy’s visit to Mykailov region back in late July. She was allegedly preparing for a Russian airstrike in Mykailov region during Zelenskiy’s trip and sought data on the time and the list of locations of Zelenskiy’s approximates routes in the region.  All "subversive activities of the suspect" were stopped, the SBU said.

The perpetrator, whose identity has not been revealed, was a former saleswoman at a military unit of Ochakov region. She may face a charge of unauthorized circulation of information about the movements of weapons and troops.  If convicted she could face up to twelve years in prison.
