Sweden has unveiled a new military aid package worth 16 billion crowns ($1.59 billion), its largest to Ukraine, since the start of the war three years ago.

Announcing the military aid bundle, Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson said on March 31 that it includes, among other things, support for Ukraine’s air defense, artillery, satellite communications, and maritime capacity. The new package brought Stockholm’s overall military aid to Ukraine to 80 billion Swedish kronor or $8 billion, the Swedish government reported. The latest package that includes Archer self-propelled howitzers, Strv 122 tanks, and CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, encompasses $912 million worth of equipment that will be allocated from the Swedish defence industry. The package also includes a $465 million donation to international multilateral initiatives.

In yet another Western support for Ukraines war efforts against Russia, the Netherlands has allocated €500 million in drone development for Kyiv. €500 million is part of a €2 billion funding package that the Netherlands allocate to Ukraine in 2025, the Dutch Ministry of Defense stated.

"It was important to declare that we are providing Ukraine with €2 billion in accelerated support, including a €500 million drone project. These drones will be crucial on the battlefield and will literally save lives," the ministry quoted Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans as saying.
