Russia loses 2,010 soldiers in Ukraine over past day

Russia suffered record 2,010 casualties during fighting with Ukraine in the past 24 hours, bringing Moscow’s overall combat losses to 787,940 people since the start of the war in February 2024, Ukraine’s military reported on Monday.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also revealed Russia’s losses in terms military equipment and hardware during 171 combat engagements that occurred in the past day. According to the report, Ukrainian troops destroyed seven Russian tanks, 31 operational and tactical UAVs, 22 armoured combat vehicles, 141 vehicles and tanks during the battles over the past day.
Overall, since the start of the full-fledged invasion of Ukraine around three years ago, the Russian army has lost 9,663 tanks, 20,003 armoured combat vehicles, 21,494 artillery systems, 1,256 multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,032 air defence systems, 369 aircraft, 329 helicopters, 21,069 operational and tactical UAVs, 3,003 cruise missiles, 32,551 vehicles and 3,670 special equipment.
Russia has not revealed its combat losses in its war in Ukraine. However, according to information leaked by Pentagon in the spring, Russia suffered 189,500 to 223,000 casualties, including up to 43,000 killed in action. As to Ukraine’s military losses, Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed earlier this month that 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 370,000 wounded since the start of the war in February 2022.
