Ukrainian troops struck major Russian military facilities in occupied parts of Ukraine overnight on February 6, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces said in a statement.
Among the targeted Russian facilities was Uragan multiple rocket launcher in Novomayorske settlement of eastern Donetsk region. Also hit were the gathering point of Russian troops in Chasiv Yar in Donetsk, as well as in Rivnopillia area in southeastern Zaporizhzhia region. Russian drone UAV control centre in Huliaipole and a logistics depot in the Rivne area were also targeted by Ukrainian forces. Moreover, Russian FPV production and pilot training centre was destroyed in Komysh-Zoria, the General Staff stated, adding that the extent of damage was being clarified. "The Ukrainian Defence Forces will continue to take targeted action to reduce the enemy's offensive capabilities and combat potential," the General Staff said in its statement.
However, the recent attacks were not only confined to Russian-held Ukrainian territories. Drones belonging to Alpha Special Operations Centre under the Security Service of Ukraine, SSU, struck a factory linked to the Russian army in Russia’s Tver region. The factory produces fuel components for Kh-55 and Kh-101 missiles. Following effective SSU drone strikes, a major fire erupted at the plant, sending a thick plume of black smoke into the air. The FIRMS system, which monitors fires worldwide in real time, confirmed active burning at the facility.
The SSU framed the attack as a strike on key Russian military-industrial complex facilities, stressing that the targeted factory played a key role in production of cruise missiles, which are used in attacks against strikes on Ukraine.
