Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, SOF, have destroyed a fuel and lubricant storage facility and a Russian fuel depot in occupied parts of eastern Luhansk region.
“Overnight on October 27, units of the Special Operations Forces successfully struck Russian forces supply facilities. The fuel and lubricant warehouse and fuel depot were located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine’s Luhansk region,” the agency wrote in its official Facebook page on Monday. It also released the video footage of the operation. “The Special Operations Forces continue to carry out asymmetric strikes against the enemy to accelerate the halt of its offensive efforts,” the statement stressed.
Ukraine has been scaling up attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in its occupied territories and deep in Russia in an effort to weaken Kremlin’s funding of its war machine.
Ukraine’s Donbas industrial zone, which includes Luhansk and Donetsk regions, has seen the most intense fighting since the start of Russia’s full-fledged invasion in February 2022. The fighting continues along multiple front lines, with daily artillery exchanges, drone strikes, and ground assaults. Both sides suffer significant military losses, and the humanitarian toll continues to rise. Last week, the Special Operations Forces eliminated Russian sabotage-reconnaissance group in Donetsk region and captured a Russian serviceman and a communications equipment located in an industrial zone in Russian-occupied parts of the region.
