Ukraine has struck an Electrodetal Plant plant involved in Russia's military-industrial complex in Russia's Bryansk region, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Monday. Electrodetal plant is involved in production of components to over 1,500 enterprises linked to the country's military industry, including electronic connectors used in defense, aerospace, electronics.
The attack was launched on the night leading to September 29 with the use of Neptun missiles. A missile alert was announced in Karachev district in Bryansk in response to the overnight attack. Residents were urged to remain inside, seek refuge in interior rooms without windows and with sturdy walls, stay away from windows, and, if outdoors or in vehicles, proceed to the nearest shelter or secure location.
The attack on the plant follows Ukraine's strike on a power station near Russia's border Belgorod region with the use of a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, HIMARS. Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed a major damage to the energy infrastructure.Ukraine has stepped up attacks on critical Russian infrastructure in response to Moscow's relentless attack on its civilian infrastructure. On September 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned Russia of blackouts. "Russia must clearly know that civilized countries differ from wild ones in that they never strike first and are not aggressors. But this does not mean they are weak. There is no need to show weakness," he said. Russia on Saturday launched its third largest air raid on Ukraine that lasted 12 hours and involved the use of over 600 drones and 40 missiles.
