Russia's drone attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv killed at least three people and injured dozens, the mayor of the capital said on Sunday.
Twenty-nine people, including seven children, were injured in the Russian air bombardment that damaged civilian infrastructure and caused fire in residential buildings. Among the killed are a 46-year-old mother and her 19-year-old daughter,  Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenk said. Civilians were evacuated from a nine-storey and a 16-story building that caused fires due to Russian drone strikes in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district.
Russia launched 101 drones on Ukraine overnight into Sunday, of which 90 were downed and neutralized, according to Ukraine's air force. Five drones hit five locations. The head of Kyiv’s military administration on Sunday morning warned residents to “remain in shelters", stating that “several” Russian drones were operating over the city.
The deadly assault came a day after another Russian attack killed four and wounded up to 20 in Kyiv. Three more people were killed as Russia launched a massive air strike on southern Kherson region on Friday morning. Earlier on Saturday, US President Donald Trump dismissed a possible summit with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin anytime soon. "I'm going to have to know that we're going to make a deal. I'm not going to be wasting my time," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he headed to Asia.
The White House this week announced there were no plans for a Trump-Putin summit in the immediate future, while Trump said he didn't want a "wasted meeting" that would not result in ending the nearly four-year-war in Ukraine.
