Russia's overnight barrage kills four in south of Ukraine

Four people were killed and two others were injured as Russia launched a barrage of missiles and drones on the Korabelnyi district in Ukraine’s southeastern Kherson region.

Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said the attack occurred at around 13:20 when Russians shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson. Initially, Prokudin said three people were killed in the attack, but later updated this figure to four. Among the killed is an 85-year-old woman.  

Yet another person was killed in a Russian strike in Ukraine’s eastern Dnipropetrovsk, the eastern region’s military administration head said early on Sunday. Other Rusisan strikes were launched on the Black Sea port city of Odesa and in Kharkiv where a dormitory was evacuated as a result of fire triggered by ai strikes.

Across the border, a Ukrainian drone attack killed a woman the village of Chernookovo in Russia’s Bryansk region, the governor Aleksandr Bogoma said. “Ukrainian terrorists launched a targeted suicide drone strike on a moving civilian vehicle in the village of Chernookovo in Klimovsky district. Tragically, a civilian was killed in the terrorist attack,” Bogomaz announced, extending his “deepest condolences to the family of the deceased”.

The Ukrainian Air force said it downed 110 of the 123 drones launched by Russian in the night of Saturday to Sunday. According to the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia launched attacks with 123 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmass types, as well as other types of drones, launched from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as Hvardiiske in Crimea.
