China accused of sharing intelligence to Russia on Ukraine strikes

Kyiv has data that China has providedsatellite intelligence to enable Russia to better launch missile strikes insideUkraine, a senior Ukrainian intelligence officer  has said.

“There is evidence of a high level of cooperation between Russia and China in conducting satellite reconnaissance of the territory of Ukraine in order to identify and further explore strategic objects for targeting,”  Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Agency official Oleh Alexandrov told the state news agency Ukrinform . “As we have seen in recent months, these sites may belong to foreign investors," he went on saying.

Alexandrov did not provide additional details about the Ukrainian targets that were hit with the help of Chinese intelligence data.

China officially does not take any sides in the war in Ukraine but has matined trade relations with Moscow and provided dual-used goods to Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in April accused China of supplying weapons and gunpowder to Russia, while also claiming Beijing was producing weapons on Russian territory. Zelenskiy's claims were rejected as "groundless" by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

It should be noted that China and Russia signed over 20 cooperation agreements in technology, trade and other sectors during Vladimir Putin's visit to Beijing on September 2. The sides agreed on Russia's gas deliveries to China via Mongolia for 30 days, therefore cementing Moscow's pivot to Asia as it has been using European energy markets since its war of invasion in Ukraine in 2022.
