North Korea has funnelled 12 million artillery shells to Russia, Seoul spy agency

North Korea has supplied Russia with over 12 million artillery shells to help Moscow in its war of invasion in Ukraine, South Korea’s military intelligence authorities reported.

According to a report by the Defence Intelligence Agency, Pyongyang has supplied Russia with roughly 28,000 containers of weapons and artillery ammunition. "If calculated with 152 mm single shells, (the number of supplied shells) are presumed to have reached more than 12 million," the agency reported.

According to South Korea’s spy agency, Pyongyang has sent weapons and around 13,000 troops to Russia since October last year and will send additional servicemen in July or August. Moscow has also announced that Pyongyang will send 5,000 military construction workers and 1,000 sappers to Kursk to help reconstruction Russia’s border region where Ukrainian army launched large-scale surprise incursion last August.

The military cooperation between Russia and North Korea is in line with the strategic partnership treaty signed between the two countries last year.
