Azerbaijan holds joint drills involving five countries

Azerbaijan is hosting  "Eternal Brotherhood-IV" multinational joint drill with the participation of Turkey, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan.

The exercises that started on Tuesday will conclude in about two weeks. Addressing the opening ceremony, Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov said: The 'Eternal Brotherhood – IV' multinational joint special forces exercise, which has been held for the fourth time and has become a tradition, is a vivid example of military cooperation, friendship and fraternal relations between the participating countries.”

Hasanov stressed that such drills serve not only to exchange military experience and enhance practical skills but also “for strengthening international security and maintaining peace in the region.” The ministry said in its official website that “The units will join the combat training tasks in shooting, parachuting, sniper activities, and in clearing populated areas from enemy forces.”

The drills were first announced by the Azerbaijani media in June.
