Russian Defence Ministry shares video showing soldiers moving freely in Pokrovsk

The Russian Defence Ministry has shared a video, showing free movement of its soldiers in Ukraine’s Pokrovsk city in Donetsk region.

The video released in the ministry’s Telegram channel shows Rusian troops patrolling the empty streets of southern Pokrovsk that Russia has been seeking to capture for more than a year. Some soldiers can be seen carrying a stretcher on a wheel.

Russia has been using a pincter movement to encircle Pokrovsk. If captured, Pokrovsk will grant Russian forces a platform to drive northward in Pokrovsk. Russia maps now show the city as controlled by Russian forces, while Ukrainain troops are incircled in neighbouring Myrnohrad according to these maps.

Being a logistics hub, Pokrovsk is very important for both Russia and Ukraine.Ukrainian commanders admit the situation is diffciult in Pokrovsk direction but maintain their forces are holding key parts of the city. At the same time, Ukraine confirms that resupply is becoming more complicated. The heavy use of drones and air assets by Russia is disrupting Ukrainian logistics, especially in rainy or foggy conditions that favor Moscow’s infiltration tactics.

Russian forces have been mounting a multi-directional offensive, trying both to encircle the city and to press into it with storm units. Ukraine is fighting hard, using a mix of special forces, drones, and counterattacks.
