Ukrainian troops hit a Russian ammunition depot in Debaltseve settlement in occupied part of eastern Donetsk region on Tuesday, January 20.
The head of the Center for Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko, wrote on Telegram app that the strike on the ammunition was very “powerful”, which prompted the occupation administration to urge residents to “stay at home.” He posted video of the strike on Telegram.
“For the first time, I’m seeing such an excellent, almost immediate fact-check,” Andriushchenko wrote in a separate Telegram post, referring to the strike, and posting video from the city.
Earlier, Ukrainian drone units attacked Russian military targets in Donetsk, including an ammunition depot in Makiivka and electrical substations linked to power supply.
Ukraine has stepped up missile and drone attacks on Russia’s military assets, including ammunition depts, military equipment, air defence systems, UAV depots in occupied territories of Ukraine and deep in Russian soil. The attacks are aimed at undermining the Kremlin’s ability to continue its war of invasion that is already in its fourth year.
Ukraine’s strikes, especially by elite units and drones, are reported to have inflicted multi-billion-dollar losses on Russian air defenses. Deep strikes on strategic bombers and airfields may constrain Russia’s ability to conduct long-range air assaults inside Ukraine.
