The Spartan brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard has suspended Russian assault in Pokrovks in eastern Donetsk region and eliminated 120 Russian troops.
In a statement posted on Telegram app, the brigade said Russian command has thrown significant forces into the assault on the Pokrovsk front, “taking advantage of the rainy weather”. Russian infantrymen tried to advance in cars, motorcycles and ATVs.
Despite intense pressure, the unit known as "Spartan," along with nearby formations, managed to halt the opposing force’s advance. Over the course of two days, the attackers incurred heavy losses, including the destruction of 120 assault aircraft and damage to 6 others.
In addition to these losses, Russian forces saw several vehicles taken out of action, including 7 ATVs, 4 motorcycles, and 3 cars.
The brigade also shared the video footage of the operation in Porkovsk. The image features precision strikes at Russian military personnel and military equipment in different parts of the frontline.
The General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed heavy fighting in the Pokrovsk sector on March 19, with a total of 187 combat engagements taking place along the frontline. Russian troops launched 62 airstrikes, dropping 173 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it deployed 5,176 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,902 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian troop positions, the General Staff stated. Across the northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, Russian troops conducted 85 strikes against Ukrainian defensive positions and populated areas, including one barrage involving multiple launch rocket systems. They also executed six aerial attacks, deploying a total of 20 guided bombs. In that area, two clashes between the opposing forces were documented.
