Russia scales up attacks across frontline, loses 5,000 troops in 3 days, Ukraine’s army chief

Russian troops have scaled up attacks on several parts of the frontline taking advantage of weather conditions, with the number of combat engagements reaching 200, Commander-in-Chief of Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said on Saturday

With the change in weather conditions, the Russian aggressor has increased pressure simultaneously on several sectors of the front. For several days in a row, the number of combat engagements has exceeded 200,” Syrskyi said in a post on Telegram app.

The military official stated that Russian casualties have risen sharply, with roughly 4,840 troops killed or injured between Tuesday and Thursday.

He emphasized that the heightened activity of the enemy’s larger forces is forcing Ukraine to adopt innovative, unconventional tactics. According to him, Ukrainian forces remain highly active, taking the initiative and continuing efforts to reclaim lost ground.

Syrskyi also shared that he had recently traveled to sectors overseen by Operational Command Pivden, where he held meetings with senior leadership as well as commanders from assault and air assault units. "We coordinated further actions taking into account the enemy's tactics and defined the tasks for each unit in its area of responsibility," the commander-in-chief stated. Furthermore, Syrskyi gave relevant orders to bolster supplies of ammunition, drones and other logistical sources.

Earlier this month, Ukrainian military reported recapturing 400 square kilometers of territory in the eastern part of the country.
