Russia loses record 1,130 soldiers over a day

Russia has lost more than 1,130 soldiers killed or wounded over the past 24 hours, bringing Moscow’s war casualty toll to 1,218,940, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Sunday.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the General Staff also revealed Russia’s losses in terms of military equipment. Thus, since launching full-fledged invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has lost

11,541 tanks, 23,885 armored fighting vehicles, 35,952 artillery systems, 1,598 multiple rocket launchers, 1,269 anti-aircraft warfare systems, and 4,137 cruise missiles. Ukraine’s Defence Forces has also eliminated 434 warplanes, 347 helicopters, 104,068 tactical unmanned aerial systems, 28 warships/cutters, 2 submarines, 73,644 vehicles and fuel trucks, and 4,039 pieces of special equipment belonging to the Russian army.

Russia has not published in casualty data, while estimates on Moscow’s losses differ.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Forces reported on weekend that its air defense forces shot down or jammed 125 out of the 154 drones Russia used to attack Ukraine since the evening of January 10. According to the statement, beginning around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, Russia carried out an attack using 154 strike UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types. The drones were launched from Millerovo, Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. Approximately 110 of the UAVs were Shahed drones.
