Ukrainian Defence Forces struck multiple key Russian military targets on occupied parts of the country and in the Russian territory on the night of February 18, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Wednesday.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the General Staff said that Ukrainian forces struck a staging area for an enemy drone unit near Trudove and a Russian UAV repair facility close to Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia region. They also targeted a communications center near Staromlynivka in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, along with the area of military equipment in Donetsk on the night leading to February 18.
In another operation earlier on February 17, a launcher from a Russian S-300VM air defense system was hit near the Mariupol city in Donetsk region. Drone command centers operated by Russian forces were also struck near Salnoye in Kursk Oblast, as well as near the temporarily occupied town of Rodynske in the Donetsk region. The assessment of Russian losses and the full scale of the damage is still underway.
Fighting in Ukraine’s eastern and southern sectors remains intense, particularly in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, where Russian and Ukrainian forces continue to contest key positions along the front line. In Donetsk region, hostilities are concentrated around long-disputed urban areas and logistics corridors. Russian forces are attempting to press forward through sustained infantry assaults supported by artillery and drone reconnaissance, while Ukrainian troops are focused on holding defensive lines, disrupting supply routes, and striking command posts and equipment concentrations behind the front.
