Russia’s overnight strikes kill at least one, injures dozens

Russian troops launched multiple overnight air strikes across Ukrainian regions on Sunday, killing one civilian and injuring over a dozen others, regional authorities said.

The attacks targeted that started on Saturday night and continued into the morning hours, targeted civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

A ten-year-old boy was hospitalized and three private houses were damaged in the strike on Dnipro district shortly after midnight, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Hazha said. Nikopol area was shelled by heavy artillery but no casualties were reported there. Southeastern Zaporizhzhia was also hit, with regional governor Ivan Fedor stating that one person was killed and eight others were injured in Russian attacks over the past 24 hours. Russian forces launched 577 strikes on 30 settlements, including airstrikes, drone attacks, multiple-launch rocket systems and artillery fire in the region, according to regional authorities.

 Authorities said there were at least 67 incidents of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure. Emergency crews were still surveying the destruction and providing assistance to affected residents throughout the area.

In southern Ukraine, the Kherson Regional Military Administration said Russian troops struck the Korabelnyi district of Kherson at about 11:10 p.m., firing multiple-launch rocket systems at the area.

The shelling wounded three women. Officials said two of them, aged 86 and 44, were taken to hospital in moderate condition with blast injuries, concussions and acoustic barotrauma.

Regional authorities reported that over the last 24 hours, Russian attacks across Kherson Oblast left one person dead and 18 others injured. The bombardment damaged 16 apartment blocks and 67 private houses, along with a church, a store, warehouse facilities, outbuildings, a gas pipeline, a private garage and several vehicles.
