Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksiy on Saturday visited the frontline in Pokrvosk in eastern Donetsk region amid Russia’s efforts to capture the city.

Posting in social media, Zelenskiy shared the video of him visiting command post and walking through underground tunnels. “I have heard a report from the Pokrovsk front regarding the operational situation and the combat mission performance. I have also decorated our soldiers with state awards,” Zelenskiy wrote.

Zelenskiy’s visit came amid reports that three people were killed in Russia’s attack on the city of Pokrovsk on March 22. There have been no reports about the type of weapons used by Russians during the attack. Russian troops are about six kilometers from embattled Pokrovsk city that is key logistics hub in industrial Donbas region that has been the main focus of relentless Russian attacks in the past few months. Recently, Kremlin shifted its priorities from Pokrovsk to its border Kursk region in attempt to recapture swathes of lands seized during Ukraine’s surprise incursion last year.
