Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said that “faster” results were needed on the battlefield confrontations with Russian forces, in the same speech where he called for production of more advanced weapons.
“In all of Ukraine’s missiles achievements, there must be more combat accomplishments both at the front and on Russian territory,” he said. “Results are needed faster. And all relevant tasks are now being carried out,” Zelenskiy said while addressing the meeting with the country’s top commanders on Wednesday. The meeting was dedicated to the development of domestic weapons supplies, involving drones, electronic warfare and deploying missiles.
Speaking about the battlefield operations, Zelenskiy said Ukrainian troops were maintaining pressure on Russian forces in the border Kursk region where Kyiv launched large-scale incursion in early August.
“Fighting is now going on in Kursk region for a third month and we are maintaining the necessary pressure on Russia in this sector.”
Zeleskiy made the remarks ahead of the summit to be held in Germany to discuss the “victory plan” proposed by the Ukrainian leader to end the war with Russia. US President Joe Biden who was scheduled to attend the summit, cancelled his four-day trip to Germany due to the deadly Hurricane Milton in the US.
