The United States has restricted intelligence sharing with Ukraine as part of a broader push by Donald Trump administration to bring Ukraine to negotiating table with Russia.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe has confirmed cutting the flow of information to Ukraine. Ratcliffe stressed that he looks forward to ending the pause and starting work with Ukraine towards peace after Volodymyr Zelenskyʼs appeal to the US President. The CIA official was referring to Zelenskiy’s earlier comments that Kyiv was ready to start peace talks under US leadership despite the fact that last week’s meeting in Oval Office “did not go as planned”.

Trump administration on Tuesday suspended US military aid to Ukraine following angry spat between the two countries’ leaders in White House on February 28.

“We have taken a step back and are pausing and reviewing all aspects of this relationship,” national security adviser Mike Waltz said on Wednesday days after the disastrous meeting in Oval Office.
