Ukraine launched overnight drone attacks on Russia’s Tver region striking a missile depot and an oil pumping station, a source within Ukrainian defence forces told local media on Wednesday.
Ukrainian drones targeted a missile storage facility - the 23rd missile arsenal of the Russian defense ministry in Tver region. The depot and three nearby buildings were struck in the attack.
The operation was carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service, SBU in cooperation with other branches of Ukraine’s defense forces, the source said, adding that Ukraine continues to target military and logistical sites inside Russia’s territory, decreasing Moscow’s capabilities to wage a war against Ukraine. “The ‘drone sanctions’ are proving efficient. They will continue,” the source said.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses reported 20 explosions and said evacuation of residents was underway. On the same day, Ukrainian security forces launched a drone attack on Andreapol oil pumping. Station, which is part of the oil export route via the Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga. The drone strike damaged a filtering system and tanks with fuel additives at the station, causing a fire and oil products to leak, causing suspension of the operation of the pipeline, the source said.
Earlier this month, Ukraine’s security forces struck an oil facility in Ryazan region as well as fuel storage facility in Engels city in Saratov region.
