Ukrainian forces struck strategic facilities in two Russian regions on Tuesday, a day after inauguration of US President Donald Trump who has pledged to conclude the war as swiftly as possible.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced on January 21 that its Special Operations Forces hit the Liskinskaya oil depot owned by Russia's largest state-owned corporations, Rosneft in Voronezh region. “As a result of the strike carried out in coordination with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, fuel tanks supplying the occupying forces are on fire,” the General Staff said. A similar attack on Liskinskaya oil depot in Voronezh region was carried out on January 16 as well.

Separately, Ukrainian forces struck the infrastructure of Aviation Plant in Smolensk region where military aircraft are being modernized and produced. Head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andrii Kovalenko confirmed the attack on the Smolensk Aviation Plant, which is involved in the production and modernization of Russian military aircraft, including the Su-25 assault aircraft. Explosions have been recorded at the aviation plant.

Elsewhere, Ukrainian forces carried out strikes on Russian command posts in Volnovakha city of eastern Donetsk region where Russia has been making gains recently.
