Ukraine destroyed a Su-30 fighter jet in a military airfield in the town of Krymsk in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region bordering the Black and Azov Seas. Three more locomotives were destroyed in the operation that was carried out by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence ministry on Saturday, December 14.

The Main Intelligence Directorate shared the video of the aftermath of the attack in Telegram app.

Earlier on Friday, Ukrainian intelligence forces disabled three railway locomotives in Russian city of Krasnodar. Ukraine said the facilities had been used in Russian attacks on Ukraine. Ukraine’ defense intelligence agency reminded that “every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people will face fair retribution.”

In yet another attack on November 15, a wave of Ukrainian drones targeted military assets, including the Krymsk military airfield, located approximately 220–250 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. The airfield hosts the 3rd Fighter Aviation Regiment under the 1st Composite Aviation Division of the 4th Air and Air Defense Forces Army.

Su-34 is a two-engine hypersonic medium-range fighter bomber designed to carry out a wide range of combat operations. According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian military destroyed at least 33 Russian Su-34 fighter jets between February 2022 and September 2024.
