Ukraine destroys drone storage facility in west of Russia

Ukraine has struck a drone storage facility in Russia’s western Oryol region, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Friday, December 28. In a statement posted on Facebook page, the General Staff revealed that the facility was struck jointly with the Ukrainian Air Force, in collaboration with other components of the Defense Forces.

"As a result of the strike, a storage, maintenance, and repair facility for Shahed kamikaze drones, consisting of several reinforced concrete shelters, was destroyed," the statement reads.

The attack that was launched on December 26, targeted a Russian Defense Ministry military facility between the village of Tsimbulova and the village of Rudnevo in the Bolkhov district of Russia's Oryol region. The General Staff did not reveal the weapons used in the attack. However, Russian Telegram channels reported that the facility was stuck with British-Franco Storm Shadow long-range missile.

This was the third attack on Russia’s Oryol region this month. On December 13-14, Russia reported an attempted attack on an oil depot in Oryol. Another attack occurred on December 22 when unknown drones struck the region, causing fire at the oil depot, which is an important facility in the region.
