Ukraine destroys $5M Russian Podlet radar in Crimea

Ukrainian troops have destroyed a Russian Podlet radar worth $5 million in Russian-annexed Crimea Peninsula, Ukrainian intelligence reported on Wednesday.
The operation to destroy the Podlet was carried out on November 28 by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. The agency did not give any further details about the operation, while stressing that the Russian equipment was “burned”.
“The destroyed radar system, valued at approximately $5 million, was primarily designed to provide targeting data for the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems,” the Intelligence Directorate stated.
The Radar 48Ya6-K1 “Podlet K1” is a low-altitude radar with an inter-service application that uses a phased array antenna for intercepting and tracking of low-altitude targets. It operates in coordination with S-300 and S-400 missile systems.

Previously, Ukrainian forces destroyed a rare Russian improvised rocket launcher, the RBU-6000 naval rocket launcher mounted on a land-based chassis, using FPV drones.
