Ukrainian military said on Thursday that it struck a base storing Iranian Shaheed kamikaze drones in Russia’s Krasnodar region. In a statement, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Forces said that the base was hit by the SBU Special Service of Ukraine jointly with the Navy.

"According to available information, nearly 400 strike drones were stored there," the statement said. The General Staff claimed that missiles and artillery weapons, including those that came from North Korea, as well as guided aerial bombs, were stored on the territory of the warehouse. "Based on objective control results, a direct hit was made on the target. Secondary explosions were observed at the site."

The drone was struck in Krasnodar’s Oktyabrsky settlement. Iranian-produced Shaheed kamikaze drones have been widely used in Russia’s full-fledged invasion of Ukraine since the start of the war over two years ago. Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 1,300 such drones in September, launching them on a daily basis for an entire month.
