Russia lost its Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik-B attack drone in a friendly fire in the city of Kostiantynivka in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region on Saturday, local media reported.

The drone was conducting a test flight in combat conditions when it was struck. Worth around $15-18 million, Hunter-B is a six-generation aircraft developed by Sukhoi and MiG.  There was no official confirmation of the downing of the drone.

Conflicting reports came about the downing of the unmanned combat aerial vehicle, also known as Hunter-B. Initially, head of the Kostiantynivka Military Administration Serhiy Horbunov was quoted as saying by Ukraine’s public broadcaster, Suspilne, that Ukrainian forces downed a Russian bomber.

The report of the downing of the Russian drone comes amid Russia’s advances in eastern parts of Ukraine where the Kremlin has claimed capturing several towns and villages, including the key town of Vuhledar that was invaded this week.
