Russia loses 1,170 more troops in fighting in Ukraine

Ukrainian troops killed 1,170 more Russian soldiers during the fighting on September 28, bringing the total number of Russia’s military losses to 651,810 since the start of the war in February 2022.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces revealed the number of Russian losses in its official Facebook page. According to the General Staff, Russia also suffered heavy losses in terms of military equipment and hardware. Thus, Ukrainian forces destroyed 38 armored fighting vehicles, 62 artillery systems, 1 multiple rocket launcher, 1 anti-aircraft warfare system, 93 tactical unmanned aerial systems, 84 vehicles and fuel trucks, 6 pieces of special equipment during the hostilities in the past 24 hours alone.

Overall, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 8,869 Russian tanks (including nine in the past 24 hours), 17,476 armored fighting vehicles, 18,795 artillery systems, 1,204 multiple rocket launchers, 962 anti-aircraft warfare systems, and 2,610 cruise missiles. The Russian army also lost 369 warplanes, 328 helicopters, 16,186 tactical unmanned aerial systems, 28 warships/cutters, 1 submarine, 25,495 vehicles and fuel trucks, and 3,297 pieces of special equipment since the start of Ukraine’s full-fledged invasion more than two years ago.

Russia has not publicized the number of its military losses in the war so far. However, according to US estimates, the Kremlin has lost 350,000 soldiers killed and wounded since the start of the invasion of Ukraine. However, Ukraine has put Russia’s overall losses at 635,880.
