The Russian Defence Ministry on Tuesday reported destruction of a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft in Dolgintsevo airfield in Ukraine’s eastern Dnepropetrovsk region.

The ministry reported that Russian troops destroyed Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Su-25 aircraft with the use of "Lancet-3” loitering munitions in the base of warplanes belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In its official Telegram channel, the Defence Ministry also shared the video footage showing the destruction of the Ukrainian aircraft. In response, Ukraine struck Russian-launched Kh-59-69 missiles in the region, Ukraine’s Air Defence units from Air Force Command East reported on Tuesday.

It should be noted that the attack on Dnepropetrovsk was the second in the past three months. In late April, Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter aircraft were attacked in Dnepropetrovsk’s administrative center Dnipro city.

The attack on Dolgintsevo airfield comes after Ukraine destroyed one Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system as well as two S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems near Dzhankoy, Chornomorsk and Yevpatoriya towns of Russian-annexed Crimea peninsula on Monday. General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that none of Ukrainian missiles were intercepted by Russian air defence during the attack. In addition, further detonation of ammunition was observed in all three areas of the starting positions of the Russian anti-aircraft missile divisions, the General Staff stated.
