Russia decries’ Ukraine’s attack on Crimea Bridge

Moscow has slammed missile attacks on a bridge that connect Crimea Peninsula with Russia. In a statement published on August 12, the ministry described the attacks as a “terrorist attacks” on “civilian infrastructure. The Russian-installed head of Crimea region said the Russian air defence shot down three drones in two consecutive attacks, adding that there were no casualties.

The attack on the Crimea Bridge occurred a few hours after Russian forces announced downing around twenty Ukrainian drones targeting the Russian-annexed Crimea. This comes amid Ukraine’s renewed drone attacks targeting Russia in recent days. Earlier, waves of drone attacks hit energy and military infrastructure, the Moscow city financial center, wealthy suburbs of western Moscow. Ukraine stepped up drone attacks on Moscow and Crimea in recent weeks. Russia annexed Crime in 2014 in a move deemed illegal by most of the world.
