Iran deploys Zoubin Air Defence missile system amid conflict with Israel

Iran has deployed its advanced Zoubin air defense missile system designed to rival Israel’s Iron Dome. Often referred to as the "Iranian Iron Dome," the Zoubin is specifically engineered to address a variety of low-altitude aerial threats.
The introduction of this strong air defence system follows series of Israel’s air strikes targeting Iran’s military facilities on October 26. Tehran pledged retaliation for Israel’s attack that killed four Iranian soldiers. Zoubin is positioned around capital Tehran that was the major target of Israel’s air strikes last month. The deployment of Zoubin marks a turning point in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.
Iranian officials claim the Zoubin can effectively intercept and neutrelize multiple targets simultaneously, enhancing its defence capabilities. However, the defence system’s capabilities have yet to be proven in real combat situation.
The Zoubin system is mounted on a 6x6 truck chassis, providing high tactical mobility and enabling quick repositioning to respond to changing threat scenarios. Its 360-degree defense capability offers extensive coverage and adaptability. According to technical data released by the Iranian defense sector, the Zoubin’s radar can detect up to 100 targets simultaneously within a 30 km radius and engage threats up to 20 km away.
Iran’s emphasis on the development of the Zoubin air defense system highlights a strategic focus on countering the latest generation of low-altitude and precision aerial threats.
