Joe Biden will send as much military aid as possible to Kyiv in his final months as at the US president to ensure Ukraine can keep fighting Russia next year, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday.

Blinken said that “President Biden has committed to making sure that every dollar we have at our disposal will be pushed out the door between now and January 20,” when President-elect Donald Trump is due to be sworn in.

The US military assistance will include weapons and funds for arms production deals, Ukrainian foreign minister Andrii Sybiga revealed after holding talks with Blinken in Brussels on Wednesday. “We have a clear picture – a clear timeframe, clear volumes - of what will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of the year. This helps us strategically to plan our actions on the battlefield, ” Sybiga stated.

Sybiga said, without giving further details that he was “cautiously optimistic” after discussing with Blinken the possibility of conducting deep strikes on Russia, as well as Euro-Atlantic integration.

The US is Ukraine’s largest military backer in its war against Russia, committing over $60 billion security aid since the start of Kremlin’s full-fledged invasion of the country in February in 2022. Biden administration seeks to send large-scale military aid to Ukraine before leaving office in late January.
