Explosions shake Russian military facilites as Moscow downs dozens of Ukrainian drones

Ukraine has launched fresh drone attacks on a key Dyagilevo military airfield in Russia’s Ryazan city, Russian media reported on Wednesday.
Located 500 kilometers from the frontline, Dyagilevo airfield hosts Il-76 tanker aircraft, Tu-22MS bombers, and serves as a retraining center for long-range aviation pilots. The General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that adjacent to the base is a repair facility that services Russian strategic aircraft, including Tu-22M bombers, Tu-95MS bombers, and various Il-76 military transport aircraft.
Following the attack, Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov said three Ukrainian drones were downed by the air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense shot down three drones over the Ryazan region, adding that there were no casualties.
Yet another Ukrainian attack was recorded in Russia’s Black Sea port in Novorossiysk city in Krasnodar region. Novorossiysk mayor Andrey Kravchenko confirmed that air defense forces were active in response to the attack. The city residents reported explosions in the outskirts of the city as well. Novorossiysk is a key port of Russia’s Black See Fleet and is an important part of Moscow’s military infrastructure. The Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) confirmed that attack on Novorossiysk took place. However, Ukrainian intelligence services stated that “the information is being clarified.”
Meanwhile, Russian Defence Ministry confirmed that 24 Ukrainian drones were downed on the night leading to December 4, stressing that six of the were shot down over Rostov region, five over Bryansk, four over Belgorod, three over Ryazan, one over Astrakhan, and five over Krasnodar.
