Russian strikes overnight on the southern Ukrainian port city of Odessa killed eight people on Friday, local officials said.
"This is the third attack on a civilian vessel in the past four days," region's governor Oleh Kiper worte on social media, describing the attack as "yet another crime" by an "insidious enemy".
He said a two-story building had been destroyed in the attack, adding that ballistic missiles were used during the attack.
Video from the scene of the attack distributed by first responders showed emergency workers retrieving bodies from the rubble of the destroyed building by lamplight.
Russia has stepped up attacks on Ukraine’s Black Sea ports recently, including strikes on civilian vessels in Odessa port. The European Union has described these attacks as a "blatant violation of international law."
The attacks on Ukrainian ports coincided with ongoing Europe tour of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy who is visiting London, Paris, Rome and Berlin. On Friday, Zelensky headed to Germany to Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who announced a new 4 billion euro military assistance to Kyiv.
