Child is among four killed in Russian missile attack on Kryvyi Rih

Four civilians, including a child, were killed and 32 others injured as Russia launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih town in Dnipropetrovsk region on March 5.

The missile struck a five-story hotel in the evening, regional governor Serhii Lysak said.

"Just before the strike, volunteers from a humanitarian organization checked into the hotel – citizens of Ukraine, the U.S., and the U.K.," President Voldymyr Zeleskiy said. He explained that the reason the reason some survived, was the fact that they managed to escape their rooms.

Also damaged in the Russian attack, were 14 apartment buildings, a post office, almost two dozen cars, a cultural center, and 12 shops, governor Lysak said.

With a population of about 660,000 and located   roughly 70 kilometers to the frontline, Krivyi Rih is a frequent target of Russian missiles.

The missile attack on the city follows Trump administration’s decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine following the heated discussion between Zelenskiy and Trump last Friday.
