Belarus hosting dozens of Russian nuclear weapons

Belarus is hosting dozens of Russian nuclear weapons and will prepare more facilities for the deployment of Moscow's newest hypersonic ballistic missiles, Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko revealed on Tuesday
Writing in a post on Telegram app, Lukashenko said: "I brought nuclear warheads here. Not a few dozen of them. Many people write: 'Oh, it's a joke, no one brought anything in.' They did. And the fact that they say that it's a joke means they missed it. They didn't even notice how we brought them in."
Russia signed a treaty with its closest ally Belarus on Friday, giving Minsk security guarantees, including the possible use of Russian nuclear weapons to help repel an aggression.
“I have warned all my enemies, ‘friends’ and adversaries: If you step on the border, the answer will be momentary,” Lukashenko said.
The security pact signed between Belarus and Russia follows revision of Moscow’s nuclear doctrine, which placed Belarus under Kremlin’s nuclear umbrella amid the rising tension with the West. After signing the pact, Lukasehnko asked Putin to deploy new weapons in Belarus.
“I would like to publicly ask you to deploy new weapons systems, primarily Oreshnik, to Belarus. It will help calm some heads,” Lukashenko told Putin. It should be noted that Oreshnik intermediate range ballistic missile was used for the first time during attack on Ukraine last month.
