Azerbaijan’s national minifootball team won the World Championship 2025 held in capital Baku.
In the highly anticipated final match held at the National Gymnastics Arena on Sunday, team Azerbaijan won a historic victory, defeating Hungary 4-2, and securing the world title for the first time.
In the battle for third place, Serbia secured the bronze medal with a 3–0 victory over Montenegro.
The victory marks a landmark achievement for Azerbaijani minifootball on the global stage. The tournament featured elite national teams and highlighted the rising popularity and intensity of minifootball. Azerbaijan’s win has been widely hailed throughout the country as a proud and outstanding achievement in sport. Following their victory, the national team was received by the country’s President Ilham Aliyev on Monday who congratulated the team members over their victory at the Minifootball World Cup.
